Who would throw out a perfectly good cat?!

August 25th, 2010 by Brian

Animal abuse in any form is one of the most despicable crimes, but every so often someone is so callous and cruel that it simply defies any logic.

Unfortunately, according to this article

Lola’s infuriated “fur parents” posted the CCTV video taken from cameras they installed around their home, and soon enough, the woman was found. But not arrested. Turns out dropping a cat in a bin isn’t against the law — though the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is reportedly looking to have words with her.

The cat ended up trapped in the garbage bin for 15 hours!  Fortunately there is a happy ending – the owners found their cat, and most importantly she was safe and sound.

So I guess to the list of dangers that are ever present to the unwatched outdoor cat – cars, poisons (such as antifreeze, pesticides), wildlife, rabies and other diseases, fleas, ticks, and theft, we can now add mean people who will throw out your cat!

I suppose there’s a lesson to be learned in there somewhere…

Hi – very good web site you have established. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a comment to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a marketing firm. I have always enjoyed playing with information processing systems and am attempting to learn code in my spare time (which there is never enough of lol).

  2. This is a good blog. Keep up all the work. I too love to blog. This is great everyone sharing opinions :)

I can hardly believe this happened August 25 2010 and there are only three short post.First off this woman should not get away with this. This
is clearly animal abuse in any way you look at this!! This could have had a fatal ending of death to the poor cat……Having this evidence caught clearly on tape is everything needed to prosecute her. This was an attempt to KILL the cat “VERY CLEARLY SO” I would appreciate an update on this case. Please post here I will return.Apparently the right
people have not been notified if nothing has happened up to this point…

Brian thank you for your quick response.Yes this is an old case, but I just
became aware of it.Thank you for the link.I’m shocked that this woman
just got a slap on the wrist and just walked away.I couldn’t help to notice
the remark about her elderly father taking a fall and dieing after being ill.Maybe she knocked him down and actually killed him herself. After seeing her in action one has to take note to her stone cold heart, this would not surprise me.I can’t believe some of the
cold hearted comments from that link, what is happening to this world? This was something stated that just burns me and should bother others…….
CALLING THIS A NON INCIDENT & RELATIVELY HARMLESS

Thousands of animals are probably abused, many even killed every day their owners…often on purpose, never mind a stranger on the street and this woman has done something relatively harmless, the cat wasn’t even injured! How long before the cat owners are milking this whole thing even further and getting paid for the “emotional stress” this whole (non) incident has caused them? This whole debacle really has been a total waste of Taxpayers money!
